Free delivery has gone faster

Acmamall.com has upped the ante once again. Other than having free book deliveries to customers in Singapore and Malaysia, customers can now expect their book shipments in 4-7 business days in Singapore.

Previously, customers will need to wait 5-10 businesses days for Singapore, but the revised delivery will give customers the excitement of receiving their shipments earlier.

"Customers who orders on Monday can now receive their shipment by Friday," beams Sokyin Low, operations manager. "This is due to our improved relations with our logistics provider who is committed to ship earlier to us for processing. We are now in the midst of changing our Malaysian deliveries which we will see also an improvement to delivery."

Improvements would not end here. Acmamall.com is embarking on a themed development coined, "Improving customer experience".

"Be excited for more slew of improvements over the next few months," comments Christopher Quek, CEO. "You should see a reduction in book prices, yet having faster and free delivery to you in Malaysia and Singapore. We are also in talks with various fashion suppliers to launch and bolster our fashion store."

Acmamall.com launches Paypal Express

Acmamall.com is pleased to announce to its customer base that it has successfully integrated Paypal Express, in replacement of its Paypal Standard payment system.

Paypal Express is a payment gateway, which gives existing Paypal customers less steps to make their payment on Acmamall.com.

"Using the Paypal Standard system was cumbersome to both Acmamall.com and its customers," quips Cindy Low, Operations Director. "The Paypal standard required a customer to make extra steps for payment. Moreover, Paypal Standard does not redirect a customer back to Acmamall.com upon successful payment. This led to a manual check by our operations staff to update the payment status of orders using Paypal."

Paypal Express now cuts the process by 2 steps, and ensures payments are immediately updated.

"Customers get more convenience using Paypal Express. They just need to log into Paypal during the Step 1 of the Checkout process and return straight to Acmamall.com where their existing addresses in Paypal is stored. And click to pay," smiles Low.
"They also do not need to re-key in their credit card details, as Paypal stores their financial data."

Since its soft launch 2 weeks ago, there has been a rise of Paypal Express users. "I estimate a 15% jump of users using Paypal Express, as opposed to users who previously used Paypal," notes Joe Tan, Assistant Marketing Manager.

Acmamall.com hopes to see a rise in confidence, especially among its uprising international customer base from USA, Brazil, Canada, Australia, Indonesia and Hong Kong, with the use of Paypal Express.

As Low exclaims, "After all, we are a Safe, Trustworthy and Convenient webstore. We need to keep that motto alive!"

Free shipping for its books – a first in Singapore and Malaysia

Shipping charges? What shipping charges? Starting from 13 Nov 2009, Acmamall.com declares NO shipping charges in Singapore and Malaysia for its books, regardless of amount.

“It is a daring move that we have decided to take, boldly going the way that other big e-Commerce companies have done,” declares Henry Tanaka, Books Product Manager, Acmamall.com.

It has been a long and drawn out discussion with Acmamall.com logistics partners, but Acmamall.com has convinced its partners to lower the shipping charges till year-end.

“We told our logistics partners that if they lower the shipping costs, we will absorb the cost and provide free shipping to our customers, there will definitely be an increase of orders,” explains Cindy Low, Chief Operation Officer, Acmamall.com.

Providing free shipping is a big request that customers want. Currently, Acmamall.com charges a S$5/RM8.50 shipping fee to Singapore and Malaysia customers, but waives the fee above S$80/RM200 spent on books.

Free shipping is commonplace in Acmamall.com. It already provides free shipping for its beauty and floral products.

“Shipping fees gives a negative perception to customers. They want to see the final price without any hidden charges. Now, when you buy a book in Singapore or Malaysia, the price you see is the final price, unless you have a discount code to further lower that price, but there is no longer any shipping charges to consider,” says Tanaka.

Acmamall.com will begin talks with its logistics partners in other countries to work on reducing its shipping charges in due course.
